Between 1995/1996'ish and 1997'ish, there were several buttons linked to a Netscape Navigator Download.

In 1996, There was only one button animated in demand of 'Hey You! Learn HTML Now!'

It went viral, but it's laughable now (I designed it with Jasc Paint Shop Pro Software on a CRT 640x480 monitor).

Heard this week I may qualify as an OG. So #roastTheOG about the button!

Fun Facts About The Destination

• The Tutorial was coded over three months prior HTML3.2 release (based on Marc's reference, but simplifed for teens.)
• The concept feature on many tutorials available today, seeing your practice code immediately, was a concept borrowed from The Tutorial.
• The Tutorial Linked made sure anyone writing HTML code could copy-and-paste the "code snippet" pointing to the now-tacky button and link to tutorial linked.
• Oh, and it took longer to make this page than it did to make the animated .gif button...

The same tutorial offered the most popular introduction to Favorite Icons, using Paint. It's still a bit amusing, but it was cutting edge in giving sites Favorites Icons immediate 16x16 spice.
